Otoplasty and Earlobes
Improve Ear Tuck, Fix Stretched Earring Holes
What is Otoplasty (Ear Surgery)?
Otoplasty is commonly referred to as cosmetic ear surgery that is typically done to correct the ear from sticking too far out from the head. A small incision is made behind the ear where scars will be not be seen. Then cartilage is bent or shaped so the ears are tucked in closer improving the overall appearance. We perform this surgery on a broad spectrum of age ranges due the fact that we are often helping with a self-consciousness issue. Ears are often corrected in early childhood around the age of 5, in high school around the age of fifteen, or in adulthood when someone determines on their own to do something that has troubled them since childhood.
What is Loboplasty (Earlobe Surgery)?
Loboplasty is a type of otoplasy done to correct elongated, misshapen and stretched earlobes. Often, over time, earlobes can become overly long due to aging or being stretched out from wearing heavy earrings. Earlobes can also become torn or lacerated, usually from wearing earrings, and often so much that the lower border of your ear lobe is separated into pieces. We can perform a loboplasty to fix your earlobes and bring them back to what they once were so you can wear earrings again confidently.
Loboplasty is good for:
- Correcting stretched out earlobes resulted from years of wearing heavy earrings
- Torn or lacerated earring holes
- Earlobes with large holes as resulting from body piercing, gauges and studs
